A 35-year-old man, Mohan Kumar, committed suicide late on Sunday evening at Majra Rudvi Kheda village in Unnao after killing his wife Seema (30) and four-month-old daughter with an axe.
The bodies of his wife and daughter were found lying on the ground, while the body of a man was found hanging in the same room.
The incident came to light when the man's parents, who had gone for Devi Jagran, returned home at night. They knocked on the door several times, but there was no response. Suspicion arose after the gate did not open for a long time. Neighbours were later called and informed the police.
Entering the house after breaking down the gate, the police found the bodies of a woman and her daughter lying and the body of her husband hanging from the ceiling in the room. Additional Superintendent of Police Shashishekhar Singh said, “The incident took place in Rudi Kheda village on Sunday night. According to the initial investigation, the man was suffering from depression."
